So, I was talking to Jerry the other day and he says to me he's found this old slab of snakeskin micarta laying out the back of the shop. He says it's some really thick stuff that he forgot he had back there.

I say he needs to whip me up a BATAC with magnum snakeskin slabs, and maybe an old school polished spine. No worries, he says. And here it is:

OK very funny.....Nice knife btw:)

I will try and save the girls a little time so they can get our knives out:thumbup:

1.THere is no more snakeskin and without a miralce there never will.

2. There is no such thing as magnum snakeskin. It was only made in standard thickness.
THe only way to beef it up is to add liners.

Its a gorgeous snake:thumbup:

You could always send it to me for proper disposal.

only The cg batacs came with snakesskin, and at .187" thick the cgs are the best IMO. Especialy stripped.

Trevor, you should send one of your SS CGBA to me and I'll pimp it as a stripper!!  :D

Never let it be said that an Australian will let the TRUTH get in the way of a really good story.... ;)

Hi folks. It is most certainly snake skin (look closer if you don't believe me). I've just had the original slabs bolstered with black canvas micarta. I found the original slabs a little too thin. The work was done by a forum member who lives in Western Australia by the name of Tin Basher. I also had him polish the spine from tip all the way around to the choil. He also put a razor edge on it. I think it looks a bit nicer now but importantly the handle seems to fit my grip better. I need to test it properly though.

Thanks for the positive feedback knife hunter. I am actually thinking about stripping this one too.

Chris.

Those Aussies are slick! Heres a pic of my Badger, 0.195 thick, aprox 5 1/4" BL. Handle has some Red to it. TACIMG_2169-001.jpg
