I have been eyeing up some Becker's for a long time now. I finally broke down, and this past Monday bought one. Being that I live in Tennessee, and am 45 minutes away from Smoky Mountain Knife works (my heaven on Earth) I got the glorious Becker BK2 Companion. Sadly, they didn't have the BK22 but the gen 2 BK2. I heard about the sheath dulling the blade (as mentioned previously I was looking this up for a long time) so I quickly set out to remedy that. I did some research with my good friend Google, and found quick tips to save myself having to sharpen the blade every second time I drew the knife out. So, after that quick fix, I went to modifying the sheath some to fit my standards (Still not done by the way) and went out to strip the thick coating off the blade. I did that and looked at this piece of art in my hands and thanked God that he put Ethan Becker on this planet. I will upload some pictures in a few days when I do some more modifications to my knife if anyone is interested. Also, I got some cedar planks to make into handle scales as the grivory are a bit to slick for my comfort.
I am also a new member to these forums, but have been a lurker for some time. Hope to earn the title of Beckerhead soon! Also, to appease "The Moose" (And admittedly the little kid in my that loves big knives) the next purchase will be a Becker BK9. Saving up my shekels to get that behemoth. I am looking forward to being part of this community and learning from all of you.
