Eco friendly stripper?
Sounds like a chick with hairy armpits. :D

I have used Cirtri-Strip with excellent results on Beckers and Ontarios. That non-eco stuff, reminds me of "The Blob". It burns as soon as it touches your skin. Me no like.

That's what I used too. I put it on a CS hawk also at the same time as the BK-17 and it only took a little of the coating off. This was done indoors in a warm room. Perhaps it was an old bottle.

I have used some Industrial "airplane" (what ever that means) stripper in the past to remove epoxy finishes on weatherby rifles and left it on overnight. The stripper seems to absorb into the epoxy and re-cure if left on too long. Making it harder than woodpecker lips to remove once it resets. Maybe in 72 hours that could be what happened here.

You may have left it in for to long. Try sanding down the coating a little mixture time. I find that helps a lot, especially on the new coating.

Yeah I recently had to strip my 11 and 2. Both had the new factory "rough" coating. Had to use the strong stuff to get it off. Also I agree, I found that sanding the entire blade down helped the paint stipper work faster.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try sanding the coating and not leaving the stuff on the blade so long. Next up is a BK-2.

Will bead blasting take the coating off???

Yes...

Funny people have problems with stripping the coating...IMO the new coating is much easier to strip off and I can peel that stuff away after it only being sprayed with stripper for no more than 3 minutes. As people have said, give it a light sanding and don't leave it in to long.
