Hey everyone,
I went to the Dallas Market hall gun/knife show today. Spent 7 hours there (seriously).
Only one dealer had the new Beckers, and I'm very glad they did. They had the full current lineup and I got to handle them all for the first time! Here's my analysis:
BK11: Forst time to ever see one up close. Wow, internet pics make the necker look bigger than it actually is. Not a bad thing, I'm just saying. Knife locked up great in the sheath. The handle, as I had heard was a bit sorter than I like, but it's really not bad. I could still use it well.
BK2: HOLY COW! most certainly my favorite. I just can't get over the thickness of that blade. AMAZING. I felt like I could slam it into the concrete floor, and it say "what? Is that all you got?" Didn't get to try it in the sheath, but the sheath was tough looking. Felt great and had great Balance.
BK7: Just like I remembered from the old days selling the Camillus version. Great balance, and grip. An aggressive cutter in deed.
BK9: Wow! Lot longer than I thought. Even though its only 2 inches longer than the BK7, it looks like it dwarfs the thing. I liked it, and although it felt unbalanced to me at first, I got used to it. I think the BK7 fits my needs better, but the 9 is a sweet blade too.
Others: Really like the new BK7 and 9 sheathes over the old camillus ones. Also discovered the BK13 in the sheath (which the retailers didn't even notice was in there. They were like "umm, where'd you get that") Great little package.
Overall, Love em all, Probably get the BK11, BK2, and BK7 very soon.
