Hey Slice-
I posted this same topic this past Wednesday. I had called GPKnives to order a Spyderco when Earl mentioned the 855 was just in. Mine should be here tomorrow. James Mattis linked to my thread over at the Benchmade Forum to alert those folks, but no one seems interested. I'm kind of surprised actually.
I'm a big fan of the 850, it's classy looking and totally functional, and I did at one point think, "now if it only had a clip..." It's a great knife and I'm looking forward to the 855. Not to mention they're numbered, usually that garners some attention in and of itself. So whatever, more for me- to each his own, I guess.
It's not really a spike either, although I could see where someone might assume that. Oh yeah, I talked to Earl again today and he said he hasn't really gotten more than three orders for it. I guess this one wasn't on everyone's must have list... but hey, for 75.00, I'll take a new numbered Benchmade anyday.
