I liked the Apparition, but positively HATED the handle scales!! I HAD a pre-order in for one, at one point, but could NOT get past the hideous handle scales. Well, check this one out!! I LOVE it!! I want one!! http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=bm670bk600 This knife ROCKS!! I soooooo want one!! I just can not swing it right now!! I hope (keeping fingers crossed), that I CAN get one.

I guess I'm the opposite...I did hate the scales in photos, but in real life, I really liked the feel and look of the apparition...I'll reserve judgement until I see one of these in real life, but from the photos, I think it's pretty dang ugly, my humble opinion. But I'm also biased against black blades.

I chose not to buy the original apparition just because I think it needs an axis lock. If they'd make one with an axis lock, I'd be very interested.

Same here, I dont like black blades.

That carbon version looks nice.

I'm suprised that knife isn't more popular (AO and all), but then I haven't aquired one either.

Are these Limited Editon (like Spyderco Sprint runs) knives made by BM, or are they an aftermarket product?

I like the handles better on this one than the original but thats me, I dont care as much for the black coated blade but its still a nice knife to me.

I don't care for the black blade either, but I love the handle much better!

Dang...either one of those is definitely an improvement over the original. Like 'em both! But the CF/satin combo appeals to me more.

Smart move by Benchmade. ;)

I just picked up another limited production that has the original scales and a black blade w/ the titanium looking liner and bolster.
I like the way it looks.

Benchmade Limited Editions are made by Benchmade at the factory.

Seems like it should be pretty easy to replace the scales your self with wood or G10 or micarta - carbon fiber is a bit harder to work with I hear but for most handle materials, for that knife most people should be able to cut, sand, drill & pop on. Kind of a fun project. Not hard to satin-finish the blade either. Try it, it's fun!
