I saw that BM has this new tool kit out for $20

Features:
Hex Drivers: 1/20" - 1/16" - 5/64" - 3/32" - 7/64" - 1/8"
Torx Drivers: (2) T6, T8, T10
Flathead Screwdriver
#2 Philips Head Screwdriver
Sharpening Rod
Carbide Sharpener and Honing Slot Includes Nylon Sheath and Blue Rubber Secure Band

I have their older kit and it was just Torx bits. Anyone know of Benchmade knives that use Hex, Flathead, and Philips screwdrivers?

I think my old emerson/BM CQC7 is a flat screwdriver for pivot adjustment.

Nope, should be torx. One of the differences between EKI & BM CQC-7's was in screws used. BM used torx while EKI used flat and philips.

rx is right, the old bms are very sought after, good deal bout the kit a long time coming..................

Oh. I like that. It looks much more substantial than their old blue plastic kit with removable bits. Mine is about worn out, I should pick one of those things up.

My guess about the flathead and philips drivers is that they're there for "general utility". As long as you have the tool, it might as well be useful for stuff other than just knives. Some of the old Bencmades do use regular hex screws, IIRC.

The clip screws on my oldest 910 and 600 Brend are phillips and the pivot and body screws on the Brend are hex. Looks like a handy tool!

I think you're right about that. I figured that some of the new 2010 Benchmades use different screws, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
