new benchmade, lots of pics

950 Rift with S30V blade...I have a couple more expensive knives but this one is now on top of the list. Fit and finish are great, and out of the box it's the sharpest knife I've ever gotten. To me it's darn near perfect, the handle is actually just a shade shorter than a full size griptilian but you get about a quarter inch more blade with the rift. It's a little heavier but thinner than a grip so I think it carries a little better. The extra weight is in the handle and it has really nice balance. With the full liners and g10 scales it has a really solid feel.







 
Haven't gotten a Benchmade yet, but if I do it'll probably be the 950. It's a sweet looking knife. Almost looks custom
 
I agree, the Rift is darn near perfect. That orange looks good especially with the matching standoffs.
 
Nice pickup. All the 950 models are great knives. I sometimes carry a standard 154CM Rift and it's great at just about anything I need to do.
 
Thanks, I can find something I don't like with about anything but I'm really happy with it. To me it has the look and feel of a more expensive blade. Not that its cheap but the way they did the thumb studs, and standoffs are nice touches. The machining on the scales and blade really look good, and it came sharp! Ergos seem good to me, I did a little cutting with it and didn't feel any hot spots. I'm always a little scared ordering a knife I haven't had in my hands, but I give this one two thumbs up.

It's going to be a user. I like it too much not to use it, and it's not like it's an $800 knife. I don't have many but was really thinking about selling off the couple safe queens I do have. I like em but for one reason or another I never use them, seems like a waste.
 
Yeah I like that one too, and almost ordered it a couple of times but never did. I'm a sucker for orange and black and I think I like the rift just a little better.
 
I agree with liking the Rift a little more too. I got one for Christmas and I am blown away. Even better than expected. I must admit though....those orange scales are amazing....hmmmm I wonder if I could dye mine orange?
 
Some people like a smaller, lighter knife for edc and I can understand that. If you like a little bigger blade, and don't mind a couple extra ounces the Rift would be worth looking at imo.
 
That's a great looking knife!

I've got a few Benchmade knives and I've never been disappointed.
