New Benchmade Product Options?

I tried to post this question on the Benchmade forum but it appears I'm banned from posting there. I'm getting some conflicting information so I thought I'd ask this group which obviously knows more about Benchmade knives than I do. If nobody knows perhaps someone could post it on the BM forum. I have a list of new items and want to know if there are any options available that I haven't listed below. Thanks.

555 - Mini Griptilian, satin plain and combo only
556 - Mini Griptilian drop point, satin plain and combo only.
805 - Axis TSEK - satin plain and combo only
806D2 - Axis AFCK BT coated plain and combo only.

Thanks for any help. Take care.

I guess you're not interested in the Balisongs? Model 43 (anodized or black handles - supposedly satin to come - plain and semi-serrated). Also Model, um... 45? Tanto blade, same options as 43. And Model 31 (no idea of options on it; just that it is 3 inch blade).

Then there is the 5W, I believe. Bottle opener cum seat belt cutter cum regulator wrench (maybe).

As for axis locks, though, um... you left out the 941 (940 with clip blade, plain and semi-serr, satin and BT2) & 943 (942 with clip blade, same blade options as 941).

Those are all I can think of for now.

No we're interested in the Balisongs but we waited ages for the 42 from the time it started shipping so I plan not to list the new balisongs until they are in house. We actually sold almost 600 of the 42 between the SHOT show and the end of March when I took it off the site. I lost nearly 600 orders and some customers. It was still 14 months after we delisted it that the first ones became available to us. Since that time I doubt we've sold more than 200 or 300 or so of them. So I don't want to repeat that scenario. I'm not listing Benchmade products until they are available to us.

The 5W is already in stock and on the web site. The other items you mentioned are known to me but not coming for a while. The items I listed, though, are either in stock today or coming next week. I just wanted to clarify the various options for each line so I can do a little maintenance on the new site prior to SHOT show and have it accurate. I assume I included all the available options and will put them on the site this way. Thanks sincerely for the response.

Hello Fred,

Nice of you to explain the availability problem with Benchmade. I had been interested in the new 805 myself but couldn't find it on the Knife Outlet website.

It is probably helpful to you as well to make a public statement - you won't have to answer a bunch of emails from people wanting to know why you don't advertise the new models. Such things must be pretty annoying to a retailer.

Actually, we list most products on the site as soon as we have definitive information so people can pre-order. Benchmade is a little different situation because isn't he same for everybody so we can't predict it very well. We are as low as you can get on their pecking order, we get no advance information so it makes it more challenging for us than with other product lines. With most other product lines availability is about the same for everybody and for some product lines availability is even better for us than for some others. Benchmade is just a tough one for us, hence my post.

We get about 100 emails per day asking about availability so we're used to that. We don't always know the answer but we do what we can within the limited time we have. Thanks for the comments.

Hello again, Fred,

I guess I should clarify what I said. I didn't mean the customer inquiries were annoying. I was thinking it would be annoying that you couldn't find out from Benchmade when they would ship the knives to you, and therefore would not be able to answer the customer inquiries.

Par for the course.
I cant post on BM forums anymore.
No explination or notification.
I was critical of one of their products and joked about it.
It seems that if you disagree, you are a Troll!

Oupa, I've never posted on the Benchade forum because I've never been allowed to. They wanted to make sure I wouldn't say anything negative and told me so. So I never got a chance to do anything there. They have a lot of fear, I think, because they have a lot of enemies. Take care.
