I finally obtained one of my grail knives the 482. I really like the look of this knife with the carbon fiber and Cocobolo wood. I haven't used it much yet so I don't have much to say on its performance (but I have no worries). I figured I would throw up some pics because when I was looking into this knife there wasn't much out there so maybe this will help someone out down the road.

Size comparisons mini grip and small Ka-Bar Dozier

Also some really nice work on the back spacer

I really like the knife Nic S
I have been thinking about this one myself. I am starting to dig the wood a lot these days.
It would be nice if Benchmade made some Mcusta like wooden handles. That would be great.
Cheers

I have one and like it. It is though definitely a right hander only knife due to the thumb stud being on only one side of the blade and not reverseable. Also the Nak-Lok blade release is located for right handed users primarily. I also have the BM Shoki which is the same way for both items. Surprised that BM would do commercial designs which ignore the 10% of the population who are southpaws after designing the Axis lock which is totally ambidexterous.

Now that I notice - no clip - does it have holes for clip screws?

No clip provision on either the Megumi or Shoki. They have small rings at the end of the handle for attachment of a lanyard or to attach them to a key ring. Both are apparently designed as minimal bulk slim knives and a clip would increase the bulk a lot.

Like was said before, it has no clip. But personally I don't mind it carries fine in the pocket. You could throw it in the coin pocket of your jeans no problem.

You are spot on, I often overlook that kind of info because I'm a righty. Pointing out the usability of the Axis lock is a good point. I can't think of any other non ambidextrous benchmades off of hand.

If the Megumi had a deep carry pocket clip like the Emissary, it would be the perfect gentleman's knife. I've been looking for a better knife to replace my SOG Flash I for carry in dress pants.

call me crazy, but I like the design of my megumi without the pocket clip. I, however, wish it comes with a leather pouch with a clip like other 480s model line.
I wish they make slightly larger version of same knife with Axis™ lock as well. I keep thinking "man, this thing is really tiny!" every time i hold it.
