I got this Benchmade Griptillian 551 on a recent trip. I haven't used it yet but look forward to carrying it this summer while out and about in the Modoc National Forest.

I have another Benchmade Knife and it has been a good knife so I thought I'd give this one a try.

Nice pics, I'm sure you'll enjoy your new Griptilian. I have one with 154CM and the other with D2, both are fantastic knives and I EDC one or the other every day and I'm sure you will too soon.

Hi Modoc ED -

Nice pick-up!

That was my first Benchmade (I only have two), but mine is the plain edge version.

I have not carried it much because the clip makes too much of the knife stick out of my pocket, however, I just ordered a deep carry clip from STR that I think will make me want to carry the mini-grip more often.

The axis lock is very smooth, and smooth and well made is how I would describe my knife.

Congrats and good luck with yours!

best regards -

I have the same exact knife, and it comes with me on every backpacking adventure...it's a great hiking/woods knife, hope you enjoy it!

Trying to get one...have a the Ritter version but I cant get myself to use it so I'll most likely trade it away for something
