I was at Cost Plus World Market today buying some food for backpacking when I ran across a little jem. It's called a Tiffin Box and is used in India as a lunchbox.

It is stainless steel and is approximately 5" in diameter and 5" tall. It certainly not UL at 11.3 ounces for the bottom pot, the upper potand the lid. There is plenty of room for a stove, fuel & some food. Thought you container junkies might be interested. :D

I have the same pot. I got it at our world market, for $9.95. I havn't tried to use it yet. I thought about puting holes in the bottom of the top pan & making a small steamer out of it.

Here are a few pictures of this kit. It is slightly different than the one in my initial post but that was the closest I could find online. The actual unit from Cost Plus is "stipled". I don't know if this is merely decorative or if it serves some purpose.

First, here it is fully nested, posing with some food goodies.

Here it is unlatched and the inner pot and lid are off to the side.

Finally, here are all of the pieces separated with a pen for scale.

I don't know much about double boilers but I wonder if you could cook by putting water in the lower and food in the upper container. (Biscuits?)

It looks pretty cool, and I have been looking for something of the sort. I may pick one up in the future just to try out.

Amazon has some, too, that look pretty good and sturdy. The company name is To-Go Ware.

Just got one of the dimpled ones as well as a slightly different, bigger model. Thanks for the tip!

My "adopted" daughter brings me homemade kimchi in a container similar to that. I was just interrogating her on the cell as to where her Omma purchased her's.

I was at a local outdoor store yesterday and saw a zebra stainless steel version (same company that makes zebra billy pots seen on bensbackwoods, raymears, etc.).

The zebra ones seem to be smaller in diameter (maybe 3"), but deeper than the ones shown, so they stack a bit higher. No pics, though. Sorry.
