I was at a gun and knife show today, and I saw a KaBar booth. I was able to pick up a KaBar Kukri and a BK-11. I now have 5 Beckers, the BK-9, 7, 2, 11, and the 13. :D One quick question: The BK-11 sheath is the old, tanto style. Can I purchase the new sheath somewhere?? If not, how do I fix the rattle?? Oh and while I'm at it, what, in your opinion is the best thing to do to the handles?? I need more substance than the steel. Paracord wrap?? Micarta??? Thanks guys, -Josh.

Congrats on the new toys. I wanna get a KABAR Kukri myself.

That's what I would want it for. I just bought a Gerber hatchet, however. Haven't used it yet, but it's very light. Not as cool as a Kukri, though. ;)

It has got me more into kukris. :D I think i'm going to get a few more mass produced kukris like the Cold Steel ones and a Condor one. I gotta have more!!! haha

oh man, no pics? you're lucky i'm not a mod...that's grounds for banning right there :D

1) no, probably not

2) earplug :)

3) whatever you want. the micarta is awesome. wraps are fun to play with.

have fun!

Congrats, Jimbo

-Lauren.

Now, from me: I think you should convince a certain person with whom we both associate to buy the Ghurka. ;)

I think I got my KA-BAR Kukri in the same trade that got me my first Gen BK2. I didn't care for the hollow grind or the rough coating, not to mention that I never saw much use for the Kukri, at least not in my neck of the woods. I loved the handle, however. It made me totally want the Heavy Bowie series and I still want the Cutlass Machete, not to mention the Grass Machete.

The Kukri and others with the same handle type are all Toooj designs if I'm not mistaken. He makes some amazing knives that I think give even the Beckers a run for their money.

that was of course, the idea, right? :)

i have both the khukri and the cutlass now. i need to find some downed trees soon when it's less squishy out (and not raining, and below 45 ;>)

just the thing to deal with the Ticks we have too. damn things are like forest crabs, always scuttling around.

i've had a few drinks already but i'm thinking "lauren" is a girl's name. am i assuming correctly we have another girl posting on the becker forum? whoa.:D

Well someone already filled him full of crap when they said to get the Trailmaster. :barf: ;)

Oh, and thanks Lauren. Somehow, I feel as though you don't really care. I know you didn't type that with those socks on your hands ;)

Who's jimbo?....she's probably here by accident...wrong turn off the freeway and such.:)

Ok gotcha, I saw your name was josh and confusion entered.
On fIxing the rattle I hear people say stuffing a small piece of leather in the sheath will do the trick. On the handles, you are pretty much on your own. You'll get 30 different opinions, most of them are in the sticky thread at the top. or here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=828994

Lauren is my girlfriend's name. We were on BF together, and I was looking at John's post, so she told me to tell him congrats. And "Jimbo" is one of the many names I've given to him.

John, Jimbo, Jimmy Dean, Tard-Baby, Magic Eight-Ball, Magic School Bus, Magic, Rauol, to name a few.

There, I fixed it for you.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, KA-BAR has become the reason I like Beckers so much now. If Becker went somewhere else, I'd likely stop buying them, or would at least not be such a fan. I loved my Camillus BK10, but I had only really wanted the one. With Becker under KA-BAR, I want them all!

If you look through previous posts where folks have had problems or complaints, Toooj has always been there to help and offer satisfaction, and he has helped me out on more than one occasion.

I was thinking this at one time. I got the Ontario Kukri, and then the Ka-Bar Kukri. The Ka-BAr is better, the Ontario is too light.
I would keep in mind the thickness of the mass produced ones. The Cold Steel one in San Mai looks great, but I haven't held it.
Make sure to look at the Himilayan Imports threads. Those guys have lots of options, and most are pretty thick, for chopping power.
Have fun with your new blades!
