I have a BK2 and a BK9 and I love both these knives.
I seriously think that a BK9 as thick as a BK2 would be seriously cool and sell well. Anyways who else is anxious to see new BK models ? I know I am.

The Camillus Becker BK9 was as thick as the current version BK2.

As for new knives, the Magnum should be out soon enough.
And I'd really like to see the Crewman re-released.

yeah, the old BK9 was .25 inches, which is great for the Campanion... made the BK9 a little heavy, the new one is really not much different.

first Ethan reports back from Olean/NY... then Shot show... i'm sure there will be news... then some quiet time, then some shows, then Blade 2010... then the buying?

So far all I have hear about is the Magnum Camp knife and apparently a kydex sheath for the BK7 (although I hope the BK9 gets one too). I also have it on good authority from KA-BAR that the BK10 (Crewman) might make a comeback as well. Honestly, nothing would make me happier than a kydex sheath for my BK9 and another to go with my BK7 that I plan on picking up later this year.

I'm really digging on the Izula folder that RAT is talking about making. Seeing as how the Becker Necker is so often compared to the Izula, I'm wondering if we will ever see a Becker folder.

I would also love to have a Crewman. I think it would make a great hiking knife as it was thinner and lighter than the Campanion.

i took three of them and bolted them together (longer bolts) through the tang.

it's awesome!

3 edges!

it's like one of those fancy razors ;)

trees? one swipe!

okay more seriously, a quick search shows:

Camillus BK-9 Combat Bowie weight: 18.25 oz
KaBar....BK-9 Combat Bowie weight: 16.80 oz

Difference: 1.45 oz

It is one of my favorite hiking tools for the exact reasons you mention

I'm still getting all the names down. Crewman looks pretty sweet. It looks like a cut down BK7. Thumb ramp and clip point. i'll buy one. :D

becker has there numbers all mis matched is confusing!!! I do love beckers but I think they sould lable them by length IE bk-2 would be bk-5 necker would be bk-3 ect ect...

Very nice! Who made the sheath?
I think a new Ka-Bar Becker Crewman would sell well. I've read and read posts of what people look for in a good hiking knife, and the Crewman seems to cover the bases well. I'd even go $40.00 over the price of the knife and drop some micarta grips on it.

Poppa Becker and I agree that this would be a nice new knife. maybe not with orange cord and coyote brown sheath but all the same, nice.

Ethan, (a.k.a Poppa) have you been reading any Federal Tax Statures later. I hear the 1960 edition is riveting and a must read over dinner.

Another vote here for the BK-10! Although I like the .25 thick blade on the BK-2, it just doesn't feel right in MY hand. But I cannot, in any way, say that knife is anything less than great. I also love the shape, profile and balance of the BK-7. But again, just for me, it's a little long for carrying purposes. I do like it's .188" blade width. One quarter inch blades are a little wide for me, 1/8" wide is too narrow.

The BK-10 seems like the perfect balance between the 2's length and the 7's design and balance. Add the venerable convex grind and that might just be "the one knife" for several scenarios.

!@#$%^! SSBob8,

Where did you get that knife? You're lucky no one is paying attention!

That sheath is made by Eric Noeldechen Of On Scene Tactical.

I love his stuff.
