New BK11 and Slight Sheath Mod

Well I got my BK11 in today. I must have bad luck though because the delivery of this one was botched as well. I looked up the tracking info and it said delivered by there was no package outside of my house. After a phone call to UPS it turns out they delivered it next door. Scared me for a few minutes though while they figured things out.

I also did a quick sheath mod and added a belt loop. The back looks like utter crap but I wanted to make sure it would hold and I wanted it to slant back when I pulled the knife so it was at an angle (if that make sense) instead of straight vertical. I also was going more for function on the back than style. Sorry for the crappy pictures. I think I said it in another post but I had dental surgery today and they told me not to bend over for a while so I couldn't get out my light box to take the pictures.

Anyways, here are the pictures.

I did something similar for one of my edc fixed blades only I set it up to ride inside my belt(between belt n pants). Works great :)

I filed a hook type notch on the top side of my 11 sheath, allows it to catch on the pocket seam and deploy the blade. Not very reliable, and ruined a file. :grumpy:

I thought of an inside the belt rig but I got too confused so I just did an outside the belt. I was going to make the loop part like a paracord bracelet (as far as the knotting goes) but then decided that would be too loose. I also feel this would be easier to get unraveled than the traditional paracord bracelet knotting/braiding or whatever and I now have extra footage of cord on me at all times when I am out hiking. I am going to do some more thinking and try to figure a new way to do it but I am trying not to look at other people's setups or online as I want it to be my own creation.

Add one of my Exo's and wrap the rest with a few feet of paracord. There is really only so many ways to make a belt loop out of paracord, I tried lots.

Haha well that is the sad realization I am coming to. I am thinking that if this doesn't prove itself on my next camping/hiking trip I will add some kind of leather, strap, or something to make it a nicer looking belt loop on the back. I will still keep the cord outline on the front though as I like the way it looks.

It looks functional and that's what counts!!!
You have a light box?!!!
Jealous here.

Well thanks man. Actually, I built my own light box out of cardboard, an old undershirt, some thick stock paper, and a lamp with a white bulb. It works for me. Here is a picture I took with it of a pipe I was selling. Sure a professional light box might function better but I think the results are pretty good considering I spent only a few bucks.

Looks pretty good, I smoked a pipe for a while many years ago.
I even used pipe tobacco in it once or twice.;)

Haha well I smoke pipe tobacco exclusively in my pipes. I never really cared for the other stuff. I buy, restore, and sell pipes as a hobby more than I actually smoke them. Last week was the first time I had smoked in about a month. Although, I do have enough pipe tobacco to last me in the event of a zombie apocalypse. ;)
