New BK11 with some questionable things

I always like having two of the knives that I use, because in case one gets lost I still have another one I can use.

So a while back I got a BK11 and then last week I received my spare. My first one looks like all of the pictures I've seen of them, it isn't super sharp but sharp enough. My second is razor sharp. But with that said, my second one has a blunt tip (to the point where it's overly difficult to get it to stick into wood), and burn marks on the edge about in the middle of the blade and right by the tip. The portion of the blade closest to the handle is ground further in too. I used the return function on Amazon and I'm sending it back tomorrow, but am I being too nit-picky? I love the 11. Been carrying it as much or more than my 14.

Thanks.

You should be happy with your purchase! And we all know that BKT is an AMAZING knife no matter what the model is, so you definitely have a fluke situation. Honestly, it sounds like someone was having "fun" with it b4 you got it. Exchanging it seems like a very rational decision

Its kind of hard to see due to the pictures quality. What kind of ham sandwich did you use to take these photos?!?! LOL I kid I kid :D

Either way, the 11 is a great blade and believe it or not KA-BAR "hand finishes" their blades on sanding belts so yes there are deviations sometimes like what you see here. It happens, but if there are true issues with the temper of the knife then that could cause some issues. SO long story short blah blah, being to picky is one thing, but being uncomfortable is another thing all together. If fit and finish issues make you uncomfortable with the blade then you did the right thing. Hope the next one comes in better for you. Still though, gotta love the 11 and all the Beckers.

Okay good. I just thought it was weird because my edc BK11 doesn't seem to have those problems. I returned it and ordered a new one from a different vendor. Took it with my ihorn sorry :D

I agree, I love all of my Beckers. My favorite knives by far.
