New BK14 bonded for life!

I added the 14 to my collection today (just can't stop buying BKT's) and, no more than 30 mins after ownership, I had a bonding moment....

just 4 stiches, but it went to the bone :eek:
 
Ouch! I think you got the short end of the stick in that relationship.
 
So this makes 3 Beckers in less then a week? I'm jealous and.... I like all knife owners know the pain of multiple stitches. Congrats and swift healing!
 
Ouch! I just got stitches out of the palm of my hand after an accident involving a mora 511. I damaged a nerve but they said feeling should come back. Get better soon!
 
Ouch! I've only cut myself once (so far :o ) with a Becker. Did it during the night cutting up some sticks with my BK14. Didn't even feel it, there was just suddenly blood running all over my hand. Didn't need stitches.

And yes, 3 Beckers in 1 week. I'm broke now so the 15 and 5 will have to wait a while, lol. The funny thing is, I had never heard of BKT b4 I joined this forum! Now, I can't own enough of these knives:)

I've been reluctant to use a wrap on mine since it will most likely get grungy from animal blood, but perhaps avoiding spilling my own blood is another good reason to stick with micarta, G10, or zytel on all the Beckers...

So you got the 7 and 9 as well in the last week or so? I know the insanity. The 7, 24, and 15 in the last couple of weeks (7 was my first). :D
 
I sliced my left index finger in the same spot last week with my BK2...I forgot how sharp I go that thing; it push-cut nearly to the bone. It had been a long time since I had a nasty cut like that. In retrospect, I'm not sure if using super glue was a good idea, but it's staying shut on its own now...
 
All my best blades have bitten me once. ..lol Some small, some big. Believe it or not, one of the worst self inflicted bonding moments was from my Esee Candiru. That little son of a gun cut me good and proper. BK-9 scared the pants off me, but only cut me just enough to show me that it loved me...lol
