Well I liked the BK 11 a lot and since Im training to be a Beckerhead I ordered a BK14 so guess what showed up today :) Went ahead and got the TDI clip figured I can rotate sheaths if I want belt or neck carry with the BK11 and 14.

So now to strip it hmmmm wondering if a dremel and jewelers polish would work?
Then the wrap....

Use epoxy paint stripper to strip it. If I were you, which clearly I'm not or I'd be talking to myself, I'd keep it black at least on the handle if I was cord.wrapping it. Cord holds moisture and thus can induce corrosion. Nice new knife btw

Tried the stripper I had it didn't touch it. I think it was just for latex and epoxy. So I got the dremel out not the easy way that is some pretty tough coating. As for the TDI clip they need to put a torx bit in there. I thought it was hex but couldn't seem to find a good fit. Well after looking at it in good light its torx and I don't have any thing even close.

Now for a patina........

Every TDI clip I've ordered, come with a torx wrench. Call Kabar, I'm sure they will send you one.

Good score, brother, that's a good lookin' knife, well on its way to lookin' better.

Ok after reading a bit about patina I put a bit of mustard on about 5 mins worth regular Frenchs mustard. Then I used the BK14 to make soup....peeled taters waited a bit sliced up tomatoes, onion, peppers, carrots, celery, in between slicing up stuff I stuck it in a peach then a tomato. I LOVE it the pics dont do justice it has blue and pink tints to it and feels very very slick. When I was done I used the baking soda per Moose. Maybe some day I will get a camera instead of more knives.....LOL

Way to go to town on that thing! Never thought about making dinner with that knife.

Well I must say it was more fun pealing taters with the BK14 than a paring knife.

I emailed Ka-Bar about the torx bit they answered first thing this morning saying sorry and one will be in the mail today.
Cant ask for better service than that.
