First Kabar. Haven't used it yet but I stripped paint, Filed and hand sanded out most of the manufacturing marks on the spine,, there were lots. Then a forced mustard patina followed by plain vinegar. I have a camping outing coming up at the end of the month and am looking forward to playing with this one. I have honed the blade on a Sharpmaker and want to know which school of thought most belong to.... Use the provided sheath it will dull the blade at first and then break in...or Don't bother with it at all and save your money for a kydex or leather sheath.. Thanks and enjoy the photo.

Looks great. Welcome to Beckerdom. I do both leather and kydex, and like both, so its really up to you. I agree, the stock sheath that comes with the BK 2 leaves alot to be desired.

Nice work. Congrats on the new 2, and welcome to the forum.

Stock sheath is pretty much okay... I will say that it makes it much nicer if you cut the 3 rivets out, remove the nylon strap, and add a large tek-lok.... The holes line up perfectly.

That how one of my BK2's is set up. The other is in an azwelke kydex... I'm considering getting a skystorm or Sagewood sheath for the other one though. But first up is my BK7 which deserves a fancy pair of moo moo pants.

Congrats on the 2! I'm kinda surprised, given your name, that you didn't do a beemer mark as part of your patina... :D

Just got my BK2 in today and I already love it. Haven't got a chance to mess around with it yet, probably fool around with it some and see what comes to mind before I strip it and do a patina. But I can already tell I'm going to just because I think it will look way more badass. Looks good beemermark. I noticed on mine though that the becker name and bk2 "etchings" on mine are in gold and dont look formed into the steel. Will they be underneath if the coating is stripped? Or is this a new modification to the production? Not that it really matters. BK2s aren't hard to spot. But I like the look of the name still being there. Anybody?

Welcome to the addiction. Like Uncle Malice suggested, cut off the rivets, dump the nylon belt loop attachment and put on a large Tek Lok. Good luck

Sounds like they are laser etched instead of stamped.
