Received my new BK2 a couple of days ago. I'm a bit disappointed about the skeletonized tang, but I blame that on myself for not researching it enough.

Here it is with it's custom Panther Concealment Sheath:

Congrats on the new steel! The BK-2 is my favorite Becker.

Don't worry about the skeletonized tang. If the knife is used correctly and intelligently that knife will last forever.

Don't worry about the tang... It is tough. On a recent atv outing my friend bent the rear skid plate on his bike and I used my 2 as a pry bar to move part of the skid plate so it would stop grinding on the rear axel... Worked wonders... I was more afraid of breaking the skid plate then the 2.

Nice setup man
I don't personally own a 2, but you won't regret buying it. I can't believe what the folks around here do with them.

Congrats on the new knife. And like everyone else has already said, don't sweat the tang. It's more than adequate if the knife is used correctly and intelligently. Seriously.

Don't worry too much about the skeletonized tang, the Bark River Bravo series has it and you don't hear a problem with those breaking, it's just one of those one in a million things. Go use that BK2 and enjoy it !!!!!

And even IF something happens, rest assured Ethan and KaBar have got your back.

Congrats on the new steel. Let us know how it works for you.

Congrats on the new 2!

Use it like you want to. She'll handle it, and then some.

Congrats (to OP too) - it may be your first, but it will be hard to make it your only for long. The BK2 was my gateway to the addiction.

As it was mine...

You give it a workout yet?
Pics or it didn't happen!!!

Guess it didnt happen ha ha. I was splitting 1"x4"x4' pieces of soft pallet wood. Only took one swing dead center to split it. I am in now way a woodsman or survivalist just a worker that needs a good tool. Congrats to the op as well hope you love this thing as much as i.

Well, after getting the BK2, I ordered a BK16, that is getting a new sheath made for it. Also bought a BK14, skipping the sheath on that one, should have it in hand tomorrow.

You need a 9. or a 4. or a 21.
A 5. Yeah, that's it; a 15. Ummmm - Wait.

<consults Becker Rulebook>
"You can't not have a 9"
