generally frowned upon (see FAQ), but i'm not too uptight about it when it answers a specific question... easier to just say "google this" and look for "foo bar". don't do it for ebay or price spotting though, really, don't, the SUPAH mods will probably spot it first and rightly smite thee; i'll probably just warn it and have it fixed... don't get smited.

on the otherhand, we don't want to promote favoritism either. there are many vendors. check in with them, and find the item and deal you want.

on the gripping hand, at this point, if anybody is selling the older model unidentified, and is too busy to answer a customer's question, they probably should lose the sale to someone who will answer the question

ran a helpdesk far too long but very quickly realized people want you to do the research/legwork FOR them, not just provide answers to the easy stuff. in many of those cases, it was obvious who came with stumped after some research, and others who are all "i can't be bothered to look this up"...

well, pointing someone with words is apparently different as an endorsement, that a direct URL and price spotting (which the ultra supah cool mods hate)

want to be sure? read your user agreement and forum rules. it spells out all kinds of things *I* barely remember.

sorry guys, I live in hawaii. it's hard to get stuff locally. ordering on line can be risky from way out in the middle of the ocean. I was hoping for referrals from online retailers that have your trust and approval. my apologies to all.
 
I just checked...foo bar is out of stock. BOHICA might have some though :)
