One of the absolute best things about my hobby is that I actually have to buy knives, among other things, to do it. No wife approved purse and shoe reciprocity agreement needed. It's work related woman, go away.

Needed this 1245 for a custom job. Growing up a Kabar of any flavor was like the epitome of knives for me. The BK's totally ruined that for me. Every other knife feels like a toy now.

Compared to the 7 and 9, Still working on the 7 debating between custom or micarta.

On to the next fantastic find of the week

I originally had mixed feelings about this little beast before I actually held it, Kukris are not generally my thing.

However after step one of skylers becker routine, that changed

I think I fell in love at first chop and proceeded to chop a great many boxes into pieces. I couldn't help it really, This thing is like steel bladed perfection. Pieces of cardboard literally flew everywhere. Took me awhile to pick them all up too.
The balance, the weight, I stopped fondling it for almost 4 whole minutes while I ordered some micarta for it then I had to touch it some more. Did I mention how much I love this thing?

It's top secret, that's what. For a little while anyways, I need to work on a couple things first.

Oops I did it again, Excuse me I have to go fondle my Machax some more.

Nice looking knives man, that machax is going to look stellar in micarta. How do you like that tanto? Any specific reason you got one with serrations? Make sure you keep posting more pics of that machax!

I am very interested to see a sheath made for the Machax. How would you mount something like that? Scout carry seems like it might become inconvenient.

In the works.
Scout carry for a Machax I don't really see as a feasible carry option unless you can add another elbow somewhere. Your arm gets a bit kinked up unless you reverse draw it.
Somewhat torn between a crossdraw or regular drop leg. I'll probably do one of each and keep the crossdraw for when I'm not packing a slug thrower.

Wasn't really all that particular with the 1245, I just grabbed whichever was handy, A customer wanted a sheath built for a 1245. Feels alot like a 5 actually.

Congrats on scoring the Machax! I looked, drooled, contemplated selling a kidney, but in the end decided it was better to pick up a Kabar Kukri and not owe the wife $400 in shoes.

Wo0t!!!!!one!!!!!

BKT goodness abound. :D

Oh, what, oh what could that hidden knife be.

Nice business sense to get making sheaths for a rereleased Blade in the machax. We r all gonna buy one and if you advertise correctly with some pretty pron you might just be getting a preorder from this guy......and many others I'd imagine

I would have to hold off on pre orders, My luck they would probably change the specs and make it 1/4" longer or something after I already made 10 of them.

oh, you were the one that bought that machax ;) hahahhahhah. hah.

i'd hold off too.. there's about 30 years difference in specs between that and the new one coming soon, in particular, the new one is thinner.

the handles vary as well... the cincinn models have estalok material. the new ones are thinner compared to the camillus models.

still, you've got a good model :)

Skystorm, I was just curious. I like my standard Ka-Bar sheath and I don't have any of the big Beckers yet, but I really like your work. I have my mind's eye on a BK7 or BK5 sheath from you when I have the requisite blade (and cash :D ).

Figured I better get one before you saw it and added it to your treasure trove, That guy actually has several of them so he says, I have him digging to see if he has any patrol machetes left in his stockpile. If I had more fun tickets to play with I would buy a couple more. Other than the handles not fitting for crap I love it, I don't think I would want it thinner though.

Very cool stuff. I'm pretty sure there is a BK 9 in my future. Tame by your standards of course but I know I'll have fun with it.

I love my 9 If you are hesitating pulling the trigger on one just go for it. I waited a while to get one and I regret it. It is truly an amazing knife. I have a hard time picking between it and my 2 when I head out into the woods. The more I play with and use my 9 the more I fall in love with it.
