I guess I should start a new thread on this..

Does anyone else prefer the old Blackjack 1-7 blade shape?

The new 2006 model has a thicker blade, wider profile, less tapered point, and downward canted blade.

They are without a doubt very well made, and very beautiful.

Thoughts? Opinions?

I bought one of the newer 1-7s and I am really happy with it. I prefer the longer top clip / false edge grind on the older 1-7s and the Randalls, but I got one of the new 1-7s to hold me over until I come up on the Randall waiting list.

It is a good knife, and is very comfortable. I kind of prefer the forward blade angle compared to the straighter design. I bought mine from New Graham knives and received it quickly at a good price. Good luck and let us know which one you choose.

Chris
