Made in CHINA!!!!!! $450!!!!!! HUH??????????
I must be missing something here.......I will have to look at one before I post any critical comments. :p

Tom, it's hand made in China, don't cha know. Guards for slave camps don't run cheap, they have an excellent benefits package as well.

:(
Buying products "Made In China" supports a goverment that:
Uses prison labor to make many of its exports
Exports body parts thruout the world from questionable sources Has openly stated its goal it to run the WORLD!
Persecutes Christians (beating, jail, takes their families away) and other religious groups because they dont like what they believe (Anti government!!)
Has the lowest wage scale in the world!
Buy AMERICAN! :)

IMHO!

Take your $450 and send it to Tom for a knife. Sure, Tom does have Jerry Hossom, Rob Simonich and Ken Onion locked in his basement making the knives, but Tom does let them out for a little surfing once in a while!!! And Tom insists on being the one who climbs up the coconut trees to fetch dinner.

I had no idea that knife was $450.00. I would never pay that much for it. I realize that one made by Ron would cost many times that much, buy come on now, a Chinese made knife for $450.00. Bwahahahahahahah! Sorry, I don't know what came over me.

Tom, as much as we may dislike the Chinese government, does that mean we shouldn't support Chinese knifemakers? I don't know anything about the knife in question, but it seems that buying handmade knives by Chinese craftsman isn't "supporting" the evil commie government. If anything it may be discouraging cheap sweatshop labor, and encouraging higher-quality personal craftsmanship and a more independently sufficient environment over there.

Of course I'm pretty ignorant in these matters, so set me straight if I'm wrong.

I doubt very much that this is handmade by a Chinese knifemaker. If it is hand made at all (which is highly unlikely), it is handmade by some poor worker making next to nothing for his labor. I could be wrong, but that is the way I see it.

Well I just got back from church and had a VERY enlightening conversation with my friend who is in the computer industry. If China ever became hostile to us......computers would go up 3x or 4x in price and there would be NO parts available......BIG BUSINESS is moving to CHINA.........end of story........so we will make them our friends.......no matter what the consequences and no matter what the end result. SOLD OUT BY BILL CLINTON once again. :(:(:(

Made in China at $450.00?????? With all the Fine new AMERICAN Knife-makers someone would take BIG bucks and buy a Made in china??? Free Trade made the easy way by CLINTON has done this. SUPPORT the USA, especially NOW!!!!!!!!wolf

HECK, I think I remember Richard "I am not a crook" Nixon going to China...

Not sure any particular politition is responsible for US business's moving to China ,what is responsible is the greed of most large american corporations. Take a look around you and see just how many manufacturing jobs remain that employ large workforces in this country. Its not Rep or Dem bringing us down its greed pure and simply. The pursuit of the almighty buck by entities that now have more money then god is a disgrace. The people that sit on the boards of large corporations should be made to stand in the unemployment lines alongside all the American workers they have screwed and displaced.

First of all, I buy made in the USA wherever possible. I am sick and tired of seeing every article of clothing made off shore. Even Brooks Brothers clothing is made off shore. I purchase Oxxford now! Secondly , a reproduction of a custom knife, no matter who or how its made is of no use to me! I will not have reproductions of anything! This business of using custom makers names as drawing cards for knife sales is out of hand. It was nice for a while as the custom makers helped the factory knifemakers improve standards, but now the greedy think that they can market anything as long as it has a name on it. 'Loveless design' is probably the most famous. Bob has little to do with those knives, except cash the check. I have one real Loveless purchased from Bob and would rather have that than 10 'Loveless Design' knives. The same goes for other custom knifemakers. -Dick

I have knives made in USA, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Japan. We live in a world where companies go overseas to manufacture products at lower costs and import steels, so a knife that is stamped "Made in USA" can have parts made elsewhere. Anyway there are many good quality knives made in many countries, but I'm so used to seeing junk from China, so that I cannot even think of spending $450.00 on a knife made there. What justifies such a price?

If you walk through New York City's Chinatown at night, not too far from the tourist areas, you will see hundreds of lit up factory windows. These are the sweat shops where the clothing we prowdly wear because it is "Made In America" is made. Workers are paid sub-standard wages, often doing piece work (they are then paid for each piece they make, rather than a fixed hourly wage) - but a union lable goes on each garment. Workers are often illegal immigrants who are paying off enormous debts for beig smuggled into the country to the slime balls who bring them over here to work.

Oxxford is made in Chicago.I can't speak for every garment I purchase but I would rather have the money paid out in the US than in China! Anyway, my point was that the use of the custom maker name is out of control. I am not buying 'designed by' knives, period! -Dick
