Here's a picture of a new blade (one of two):

NEWMINIBLADE.jpg

You'll notice that it has a very thin portion near the handle, making it different than normal mini-jungles (this khukuri is just a hair longer than a mini-jungle).

Can anybody provide the name of this style of khukuri? I can't seem to find my invoice, and am again lacking terminology.

Hi Craig! You might want to check out the HI "Balance Khukuris" thread, but this khuk doesn't quite appear to be the same thing.

Sorta looks like an extra-curved WWII to me.

You would have to ask the kami to know for sure though!

Yes, this looks like the "Balance" khukuri all right. I picked one up from "Khukuri House" when I was in Kathmandu last year. The ones I've seen seem to run on the smaller side, mine has about an 8" blade or so, neat lookin' little feller! The person behind the counter (might've been Lalit's son or nephew) balanced the khukuri by placing his forefinger under the curve just before the belly of the blade, I guess that's why it's called the "Balance"

Interesting - a balance khukuri. Well, I do have these two balance khukuris if anybody gets an itch for something different.
