New blade time

It's a choice between a 2.5" blade and a 3" blade. I don't have either yet but the Sage ll will probably be my next purchase.

Sage 2. The lack of a decent choil or thumb ramp on the Leafstorm makes it more of a collector's piece than a user.

Traded into one for the GF - keep borrowing it back for one thing or another. Definitely growing on me - might have to get one for myself.

Depends on why you're buying. The Sage is the more practical of the two, for the reasons already stated. So it would be the logical choice if you're looking for a "user". As with most collaboration models, the Leafstorm will be of more interest to collectors a few years from now. So it would be the logical choice as an investment if you're looking for a "safe queen".

as others have said , the more practical of the two is the sage 2 . if you are planning to carry this knife and not just collect it , choose the one with the handle that will fit your hand better . if your not functionally using the knife , pick the knife that best fills a void in your collection .

sage 2 handle - 4 3/16"
leaf storm handle - 3 5/8"

I've got a Sage2, but I've handled the Leafstorm at a local store. I don't care for several ergonomic aspects of the Leafstorm, but I can see where some people would love it for the design. Both are well made.

I have both but the Sage has been my carry knife for about 1 1/2 months now. I really like this knife. Compares in size to a small Sebenza. LS is a small knife but very well made also. Both are great but like the Sage better. Came razor sharp and I just touched it up on a Ultra fine stone this week. Holds a edge very well. Just boils down to size.

I rotate Leafstorm with a couple of 3in and 4.5in folders depending what I think I'll need that day. Wanted a sub 3in for casual carry.

Thought of Mnandi (too expensive for me but very nice), was looking at slip joints and along came the Leafstorm. Bought it because it dared to be different.

Can't really compare it to a 3in for use, but if 2.5in blade will satisfy your cutting needs, it is a very well made pocket knife (don't use the clip)...just looks different.

Trust me, the next knife you should own is a SageII:p

BTW- I assume your wanting a user. If for collection only I would go with the LeafStorm

Leafstorm is a user....too ugly for a safe queen.

Forgot to mention unique flipper opening.....after starting opening with the hole use index finger on back corner to finish with a "flipper" motion. Keep thumb lightly on hole to avoid blade edge.

A finger assisted opener !

I have the sage 2 and love it. It is amazing. And.... I get my leafstorm in the mail tomorrow. I will let you know what I think when I get it.
