Hello. On the advice of resinguy I am just saying hello here. I am new to these forums and pretty much new to any forums and not very computer savy so please bear with me guys.
Within the last year I have bought 3 Busse knives. On I believe is called the Steel Heart (?) and that I have a sheath for but the two smaller ones marked "meaner streets" and the other marked "active duty" on the white cardboard blade cover I would like to get sheaths for. Especially the meaner streets I would like to get a nice leather sheath for as it looks to be a good EDC knife. The problem is I have about 10 knives I trade off and on for EDC knives but oh well...
I have been collecting knives for over 40 years initially starting with purchasing a Randall from the shop in Orlando in 1967. My Father (RIP) I guess knew Bo Randall casually starting with him making a #1 for the Korean war era. I still have the knife complete with the original Heiser sheath.
I have about 40 Randalls now(picking up a new # 28 this Monday) plus many other handmade and factory knives. I get interested in certain makers and continue buying from them as I can. Lee Reeves who makes excellent axes is sending me 2 of his "Nessmuk" knives in May and I always seem to have an order with him.
Now Busse and Swamp Rat have caught my attention so here goes...
any info on sheath makers would be helpful.
sorry I don't have a camera to take pictures yet ... I keep spending all my money on these damn lovely knives.. anyway I won't bore you guys any more but nice to meet other knife enthusiasts or in my case knife obssessed.

Welcome! Leatherman can fix you up with a primo sheath.

Welcome! For sheaths, you have plenty of options to choose from.

I've never had a leather sheath before (to be remedied someday), but there's chuddy bear leather as well if you want to go that route.

I only have kydex sheaths so far, and have bought them from Mashed Cat and Buy Brown. Both have excellent service and great sheaths. I usually go to Mashed Cat for most of my sheaths, but I go to Buy Brown if I want something a little fancier.

My friend also has one made from Okuden (a local WA kydex bender and knife maker), and Brian's sheaths are top notch. The retention on his sheaths are incredible. So I would recommend him as well.

Glad you made it here! Stick around, try to absorb it, and post as you feel.

btw, how did you come to acquire three Busse knives before you even found us here?

On the Busse Combat site, you will find links to several sheath makers, including three who work in leather. http://www.bussecombat.com/sheaths/index.shtml

Several leather sheath makers are active on this forum, including:

leatherman http://www.armoralleather.com/

chuddy bear http://www.chuddybearleather.com/

rainwalker http://sites.google.com/site/rainwalkercreations/

I have several from Chuddy Bear. They are superb.

That said, I have ordered one from Armorall/Leatherman just to check his out, too.

Okuden hasn't replied to an email I left through his website a week ago, don't know what's up with him.

Chuddy Bear makes very nice sheaths. Between my dad and I, we have 3 of his and we just ordered another for a neighbor. They're nicely made and are very customized, he'll make them how you want them.

Thanks for the relplies and info on sheaths guys, I appreciate it.
Resinguy thanks for pointing me here. I got the three Busse's from a friend and part time neighbor up herein Vermont who is into tactical gear. He has a few Busse knives and wanted to sell a few so I bought all he would sell me. He is not a real knife nut per se but he does know good reliable heavy duty gear.Lat year when he sold me the knives he said something about a Busse forum and I guess this is the place. He has a couple of really nice Busse swords I am trying to pry away from him but so far he has not budged. I may have to get dirty and offer him one of my combat Randalls in trade but I hope someday he'll take cash!
Once I get the Waki I will have to order a new Busse direct.
thanks again guys...

Well if he decides not to budge, pay for the membership fee and start browsing the exchange. The waki and the AK come up occasionally, so odds are pretty good of you scoring one there.

Chuddy Bear and Leatherman (armoralleather) are both top notch and easy to deal with.

Brain / okuden emailed me last night. He's fine, my email just fell between the cracks. GREAT kydex, I have several of his sheaths.
