Here are some blades I finished recently. Sorry about the crappy pictures.
5" pettys with dymondwood wa handles. Steel is 1084 @RC60
5.25" petty with linen micarta handle and copper pins. Steel is 52100 @RC62
6" petty with linen micarta wa handle. Steel is 52100 @RC62
6" funiyuki with linen micarta wa handle. I left the handle at a fairly rough finish (stopped sanding at 220 grit). It's not the most attractive finish but it gets incredibly grippy when it's wet. Steel is 52100 @RC62
The dimensions of this one put it at the intersection between three styles. At 7", it could be a long petty, a short sujihiki or a narrow funiyuki. Handle is paper micarta. Steel is 52100 @RC62
Thanks for looking.
Chris
P.S. These are the first knives I've finished in 52100 and I'm never looking back.
