Here are my new scales on my BK4. Sorry, no outdoors shots (got a lot of studying to do).

I didn't want to buy the four sets, but fortunately Dexwithers (CoyleOutdoors.com) in selling them individually. If you are interesting in getting a pair of scales (or the whole set) he is a great guy to work with.

These aren't as slick as the stock black scales. Not rough, just a little more texture to them. I turned the flash off so there wouldn't be so much glare off the scales and added a couple things for reference (color wise).

very blue

i'll probably get a couple sets

but i esp like the blue for outdoor use

Nice mate they look awesome on the BK4. Might have to grab some from Dex as well eventually.

Pairs nicely with the delica!
Yeah, I just grabbed that since it was nearby. I've been carrying it a lot since I won it in a GAW. I thought that if someone had seen a blue Spyderco before that would give them a better idea of what the scales looked like in person (although Dex did post some great pics already).

I like blue best of the four colors, but I may try some red and green down the road to have some variation. Or I could just do a poor man's 'OmenWolf set' and get ALL blue Kabar scales!

Gassy,
I don't think anyone had posted pics of the BK4 with the new colored scales, so I thought I would be the first.:D

Dagnabit they're growin' on me. I didn't like them at all when I saw them posted the first time in the 'Multi-color Becker Handle kit now available' thread a few weeks ago. In fact I thought the primary colors were just wrong and said so. "...the colors chosen make these knives look like toys instead of the hard use knives that they are..."

But - Old dog, welcome to new tricks - that blue may find its way onto a 4 I've got comin' my way soon. I was using my current 4 the other day and left it for a few minutes on the ground were I was working and I'll be damned if it didnt' cross my mind it sure would've been a whole lot easier to see and harder to forget if it had a blue handle.

They look good man! I do like the Blue.

Kinda cool seeing these color scales pop up on Beckers now.

Yeah, I think Dex's better pictures (and a little time to mull it over) went a long way to changing opinions. The glare in the first pic made them look like they were slightly pastel to me.

You may already have some, but if you're interested in some stainless hardware for your BK, Dex can hook you up. If you don't like using the hex key he has some flathead screws and even some black anodized stainless if you like the look of the factory screws. I should have taken a pic of the blue scales with the factory hardware too now that I think about it. Blue scales with brass hardware would interesting to see. I'm probably going to order a set of black anodized hardware from him in the near future (and a extra nut since I lost an original.).
