New Boots!

I'm not going to be a dealspotter, just because I don't know exactly what is frowned upon, but, easily searched.

I got my Wellco 8" mil-spec navy flight deck boots in today!

Nice Vibram sole, real Goretex, composite toe, though I think soft toe is an option. The leather is quite nice and the price was mere lunch money. Construction seems to be top notch, made in the USA.

Been wearing them all day and am very pleased! I bought them for work, but, I think they may see some winter woods duty.

They fit big sort of. I wear 11.5 in running shoes and these are a 10.5 and fit perfect.

Snagged a pair for $20 eh?

Not my favorite brand of boots, nor my favorite fit, but for the price I like to grab a pair or two when they are available from the place I buy from when they are offered at 20 bones.
 
Where I work even $300 Danners only hold up for one season. I go through work boots like I do beer!

These aren't the super cheap Wellco combat boots though, they actually have Goretex and a real sole. My foot dunkings today show no leaks. They are better made and more comfortable than 99% of the "work boots" I've tried that are in the stores.

So no, I passed on the $20 cheapo combat boots and splurged, I paid $55 for the deck boots. The retail on the net seems to be around $150 though I know that is highly inflated.

I normally hate military boots, but these are a pleasant surprise.

These are 10X the boots my Irish Setters are at half the price.

Anyway, if you've been thinking of getting them, they are pretty sweet.
