Has anyone had one of the newer Kissing krane brown mules that are now made in Italy?

I've read where they are better finished now, where the old German made ones were a wee rough. I had one of the old ones, but gave it away, and now am thinking of getting another one. If you're had one, how does the opening pull compare to the case soddie? Can it be pinched open?

Just got my Italian made Brown Mule out of the drawer. Not bad for the price & I was able to cherry pick some pretty wood. However the grind did not carry to the point on one side & I had to spend some time working on it.
Knowing your concerns I pinch opened it with my left hand & can just barely open it; my stronger right hand does not have a problem. I have not used the knife much so it may smooth out with use. Guess I would call it a 7.
Thank you for all your stories, I enjoy them very much.

JK,

All my KC soddie have a hard pull. I can pinch them all open with my right hand but my left I fail. Just thinking of your hand problems it might not be the best option. If you want I can ship you my KC soddies to try out. You can use them or whatever. Just send them back when your done. :)

I've a nice Boker Arbolito that is quite pinchable. It's an option, if you need that ability.

Thank you for your opinions folks. I guess I'll stick to my Case and Henkels soddies. The case doesn't give me any poblem, even if it's a bit heavy though. It seems like as long as I can pinch it between my thumb and side of my index finger, I can pull it open. Of course, theres nothing much wrong with my right hand, so I can always hold it in my left and open with my right, no problemo.

Or I can just go ahead and buy one, and it I can't use it, I'll just give it away here to you guys. Then I know it will be put to good use!

Thanks.
