Hey guys, I'm new here. First post.
I picked up a Buck 110 at a Bass Pro Shop a few days ago and I was wondering if this is just a regular 110 or of it's the "Bass Pro" model.

It was the last 110 they had and it was on display in a glass case. Not sure if they only sell their model or if they have the regular production one as well. I got it for about $45. Thanks!

Hi Cidnak

it looks like a standard buck 110 to me.

Congrats, nice knife!

Looks like a standard 110.

A special store version may have different wood, bolsters, markings, and even different steel.

I think that's an original 110 though, not a different version from what I can see.

STILL ONE OF THE BEST KNIVES EVER

Enjoy.

Thanks!
What are the main differences between the two?

Nothing. He was saying it looks like the one you bought from Bass Pro wasn't at all different from normal ones. As in Bass Pro doesn't have a special 110. ;)

Thanks!
What are the main differences between the two?

The special runs for stores like pro bass or cabelas usually have higher end steel. Sometimes special markings too.
But the standard 110 is a fine knife.

Cidnak you have the standard Buck 110, the Bass Pro version has different blade steel, handle material and type of sheath and or color.
The standard 110 has 420 HC for the blade, the BP version has CPM 154.
My BP 110 also came with a brown leather sheath, yours should of had either a black leather or black nylon sheath.
The handle material is different also.
I believe the BP 110's have been discontinued.

The above is correct. The Bass Pro special edition is stamped on the reverse CPM 154 BOS and has a Black/blue Titanium coating. It was discontinued and is difficult to find. I've only seen two on the bay in over a year.

The CPM154 BP 110s had a grey finish to the metal of the blade, with 'CPM154' on the blde. They ran out of CPM154 some time back, so no BP 110s for some time now. The basic 110 in 420HC is one heck of a knife, whether you paid <$30 at WallyWorld, $45 at BP, or MSRP of $66 at Joe's Hardware for it. And... coming down the line in Idaho at Buck Knives, they are all the same. Only the packaging and sheath change depending on the vendor's order. The knives are made in the usa; the sheaths are imports, although Buck is reportedly going back to US-made sheaths. There are the S30V-bladed 'Alaskan Guide' Bucks made solely for Cabela's - including a 110. Check Buck Knives site - they will 'custom make' a 110 for you, too. I had one made for me ~1 yr ago - in S30V, nickel silver bolsters, and blue Dymondwood scales - with a nylon sheath - $84 delivered, albeit in 3-4 weeks. I still use basic 110s a lot more - great edge - easily returned to sharp, too. Congrats on getting a classic!

You can get a custom one in S30V easy. I myself got one with nickel bolsters and cherry dymondwood with engravings. It may also be me, but I also think the wood on the custom is a bit nicer. And correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the nickel version be more resistant to tarnishing and even scuffing? I usually find a slight green tint that clouded over the polishing I did with Brasso on the brass version.

Thanks for clearing that up for me guys. This will be my edc knife and I'm looking forward to using it!
