I have a bunch of the new leather sheaths that Buck is using for the Chairman Silver Nickel 110's. They are a lot different than the previous leather sheaths being a softer leather that does not have a polished look. So, what is the story behind these new sheaths and are they made here is the USA?

That's a good question. I just checked mine out and although the website and catalog both say they (the sheaths) are made in the USA, there's nothing on the sheath to indicate that. It also says that about the optional nylon sheath.

Where in the U.S. are they made?

Is the construction and look different?

?

Interesting thread.
I'll admit to not knowing about the "Chairman" 110s...
Is this an exclusive-to-BCCI-members offering?

Both sheaths are USA made.

Thank you Mr. Hubbard for clearing that up. I remember the subject coming up awhile back and I don't recall seeing an answer back then.

Is the new stamp on the flap going to be the standard now or was this just for the Chairman's model? The latest Buildout 110's I got have the made in Mexico label and the old style stamp.

No Bill, they are in Buck's catalog and the website. They are available to any and all. One funny thing is that both on the website and in the catalog, the knife is shown with the signature on the nail nick side of the knife, but they are actually the reverse and have the new blue shield inlet into that side.

Sorry for the bad mobile phone pictures. But here you are.

Best,
Haebbie

I guess that changed as mine have been coming w/ a sticker on them that says, 'made in Mexico'. This could be just for this model. DM

The early runs did not have the USA sheath. The snap button on the flap in the photo above was one of the 1st US runs. The button now is different. I believe both versions of the US sheath are made in Spokane.

I wonder when they'll be available for sale.

I'd like to buy one just to look it over.

Nice that they're made in Spokane. I like that.
