new buck 303 - gone...

had a brand new buck 303, loved how that one carried, but the edge of the sheepsfoot was uneven, and recurved, so i tried to fix it, with some diamond stones and a sharpmaker, but only managed to put some weird angles on that blade, so i stopped, and sent the knife to a knifemaker, to have it fixed by someone who knows his stuff in the area.
well, the package appears to have been lost on the way, so im left just with my 301 to carry around

, as a buck slipjoint
oh well, just sharing, ..i have to get another one of those sometime.

That is a bummer. My 303 belonged to my wife's grandfather who is no longer with us, so I don't carry it much. Nice knife though. At least you still have a 301; of the Buck slipjoints that's easily my favorite model.

the package re appeared a few days ago, so now im waiting for the knifemaker to do his magic on the sheepsfoot blade, and send it back the next week i hope.

Sorry the knife did not meet with your aproval out of the box. I will say, whoever did the grind did a great job!

I love the 303 and the 301s as well, I won't buy any more of them now unless they have scale pins and tang stamps that say BUCK MADE IN USA. Those are the old ones, for those of you who don't know...

Now THAT is what it should look like out of the box. That looks amazing! Did you have any work done to the other blades, or just the sheepsfoot?

I tell you, between your custom ground blade, and 300Bucks custom two blade model, I hope Buck's getting some ideas.

Just the sheepsfoot is reground.
