New Buck 500 Duke, blade wiggle question?

Hello, I just received this beautiful Buck 500 Duke for Christmas, and I just love it! Blade snaps into place solid, and it is built extremely well. I just have a quick question. When I have the blade open, I was checking to see if the blade wiggles at all, (cause I like things perfect), and if I use some serious force pushing side to side, I feel it wiggle just a teeny tiny bit, but just barely. I am just wondering is that normal? I mean the blade seems to lock into position extremely well with a tight snap. So I'm not sure if I'm being overly obsessive about this or not haha! I don't want to send it to Buck to tighten it up if this is as good as it gets; Thanks!

Here are some pics of my knife and the lock up joint area~

Welcome!

Your pictures don't show up for me...says requires sign-in.

If I use 'some serious force' my Buck 500, 110 and 112 all wiggle 'just a teeny bit'. I wouldn't worry unless you have some serious wiggle or 'lock rock'. Preston

Hey thanks so much for your response! So sorry the pictures don't show up, I wasn't sure the best way to post a photo on here haha! But ya, thanks for the confirmation on the blade wiggle, ya it's just a really tiny bit, like hardly at all, so, I didn't think it was a big deal, but glad to hear from another Buck owner; Hope you have a good day!

I think I figured out how to post pictures right, here we go!

I'm no knife maker, but as stated above if everything was so tight it didn't wiggle it wouldn't take much to make it not operate at all. I would think it's a fairly fine line between working and not especially for a pinned knife.

Yes. ^ Someone else already said it.
Brig, I have a 1979-80 Duke that I have been carrying and it has no up/ down wiggle. But the slightest side to side when opened.
I use it a lot and it's solid. Enjoy yours, DM

Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm enjoying it a ton, I've always wanted one and they seem to be hard to come by. I love hearing stories of people having their Buck knife for decades, it's awesome!

B Brigmophyson , that model has never been discontinued and it has been made in many special editions. It's a thin, sturdy 3" blade model, good for walking the dog and grocery shopping. It cuts up cardboard and my lunch apple just fine. I'll get a photo of mine in this topic. DM
