I love this new Duke. Great size and weight. I like the drop point blade too.
Seems i like repeatedly taking it out of the sheath and looking at it.
Just noticed i have developed a snap ring of discoloration on the beautiful rosewood colored scale. I know my 1979 110 has a simular ring on the scale. Is this just expected? Any way to prevent it? Just wondered.

nice. it is a great little folder. enjoy 'er.

cover the snap on the sheath with something softer. someone here mentioned using a pad of some kind with sticky on it. to cover the snap. i imagine anything would work if thin enough to not cause issues with knife fit and cushion it a bit. ill let those folks who have solved this issue already tell ya their way of doing it and with what product.

Fix it as described above, but try to put worry behind you - your 500 is a tool, your tool. It's going to get some marks if you use it, just like a $25K vehicle or $800 rifle will get some marks when you use it. My working principle for tools/gear/equipment/firearms/etc. is that wear marks are okay, negligence is never okay, perform your maintenance. OH

Yes thanks. Probably not gonna worry about it. Like Nascar " Rubbin is Racing"
Never neglect thats for dang sure!

Cut a small patch of Moleskin and stick on the inside of the sheath. The 500 is a best of a knife in a small package.

I had the same issue with my 500 and some felt did the trick. That was 30 years ago, I carry it in my pocket now and don't even notice the beauty marks that came with age.
