Yesturday the UPS truck brought this knife to me. A Buck BuckScript 110. Very nice. I took a few pictures of it. Not the best I have taken, but passable.

High carbon stainless steel blade
·Genuine bone handle
·Nickel silver liners, bolsters and exclusive inlaid BuckScript shield

Thanks for the comments guys. The bone looks different than the picture on SMKW. SOme say it is a dark red. I thought mine looked more like a dark brown. But whatever color it is, it is nice. I wish I had money to but another. SO I could keep one clean and new and use another. Oh well. guess I just have to look at this one and use my old 110 when I need to.

Speaking of buying more than one. I can see the purpose of buying 2 of a knife. but I have read of people buying 3 -5 of the same knife. What is the point of that? I don't see the reasoning for spending that much on duplicate knives. I'd rather buy 2 and get 2 different knives with the rest of the money. What am I missing?

Thanks,

Bill, I buy many of the same knife....the reason is lack of reason for the most part! With this model, I bought 5, but they are all a little bit different since thay are made with a natural material.....Knife collecting is a big hobby for me, and I always buy at a good price, so that I could sell them at what I paid or more if need be.....

OK. I did not think of them being a little different. Good point. If I could afford it I would probably do the same thing.

There's an old saying "A true collector must have 2 if he can and 3 if the occasion arises."

Well, you don't have to subscribe to old sayings, but for me & knives it's like this. I start out with a user, it has to be a nice one. If I really like it I'll buy a second one, in case something happens to the first. A looker that could be called into service. And a third, an archive, or looker that serves only to show the "original" in unused condition.

Then there's the prospect of gift-giving, like when I travel overseas and want to give a quality American gift to a foreigner....

As I'm reading these posts I'm thinking, well 2 of one knife maybe, but never 3, but then I read Wolfdog's post and I'm thinking, he's right of course you have to have the third to show how that original looked! Of course if I like it that much, someone else will so maybe I better take his suggestion and pick a fourth one up for that last minute gift-plus they may get discontinued which means I need to have a lifetime supply...It all makes perfect sense now!
