I posted a week or so ago that I had renewed my BCCI membership and ordered a 500 and 501 Heritage at the same time...I've been busy but got the knives only two days after ordering them (thanks John), and wnated to follow up on them.
Beautiful! One word does it for these 'little' guys.
Here is a picture of them with some other Bucks that recently joined my family:

The older 501 will have to go in for spa treatment as there is some blade wobble. The 317 is my first, and wow, that thing is massive, I know there is a thread discussing its size and weight but when you hold one of these big @#$ slipjoints...something is different and awesome about it. Can't wait to put a good edge on it, add a nice lanyard and put it to some good use.

The Heritage 500 is my only 500 and comparing it to pictures makes me wonder if the grind on the blades has changed over the years; this one seems to have a bit of re-curve to it, I was expecting a blade shape just like the 501 only larger.

Gotta go, I've got some sharpening to do...
Cheers,
Russel

Those Heritage Bucks are great and at a great price too! I have all the Heritages but the 112.

Love that family photo Russ
I've yet to aquire the 317, but have the Camillus and Unkle Henry versions and they are Huge!
I also noted that slight recurve on the Heritage 500, It's a beauty!

I also like the large folding hunters. I don't have any Buck 317s but I do have one Schrade and three Frontiers (the Frontiers are also Camillus made).

Nice looking group of knives. A bit more recurve?? I've seen 500's with little belly like the 501 and I've seen them with more like the Hertiage model. Had mine had the no belly like the 501 Squire I would have returned it as I like more belly on a blade. Just me. DM
