Just got the new SMKW Catalog and on the cover was their new set of Buck knives with the Ichthus shield and Chuck Buck's signature on the back. They are the models 309, 303 and 110 in Cherry Dymondwood. Very nice looking knives. The 303 and 309 just made the top of my hit list. Don't know if I can set up a link, just google Smoky Mountain Knife Works.

Might as well get this up . My comment , since we are on a knife forum and not a social forum, is that the shiield appears crooked. Am I seeing it correctly. If color remains true, I like it over the original red.

Please, I am not a moderator, a supervisor, your grandfather or even your 6th grade teacher, but lets not let any personal shield meaning issues get out of hand. I myself, will be glad to discuss social issues off forum.... 300

Looks as if (from the picture) that inlet work for the shield leaves a lot to be desired also. :thumbdn:

Dave, This usually is where I tell new collectors the value of actually seeing the knife your buying. But with this sellers case the catalog travels farther than you can easily drive to the building. Hopefully, when folks get one in hand that will not be an issue. They world of the computer has to have a camera they can use on a factory line to see if things are straight. I bet they will have a look at this now that they know the catalog photo looks "kinked" . I didn't download the 309, will go have a look. 300

Here we go.

Shield looks better. But, you can see the color variability of the red dymondwood scale material.

Maybe it's just the camera angle (?????) or something but the recess for the shield still looks oversized.

If they offered a 301 in the wood but with a different shield, I'd be a buyer. Not for this one though.

Wow, I didn't even notice how far off the inletting and shield placement were off on the 303. I sure hope these were preproduction models and that the regular production will be much better. I will be getting the 309 and 301 for my collection, but will now hold off until I see some more information on the quality of these.

Wow I hope they are inlayed well, cant believe that they wouldnt be..... I want some!!

Personally, I think they just photoshopped an inlay in place of the normal blue of a chairman.

I just got the Stockman and it's a nice knife. I'm thinking of getting the Lockback. The "C" mfg. design never grabbed me but then I'm a bit of a "Buck" fan.

Welcome Paladin, how is the fit and finish of the inlay?
