New Buck models? - my suggestions

I own two of Buck's folders, one Odyssey I ATS-34 (plain edge) and one Lightning HTA I (semi serrated). Both knives are great in their own way but I would like to see a combination of them, so here are my suggestions for two new models:

1) The cobalt blue Lightning HTA I with a
ATS-34, or better steel, blade.

2) A smaller version of the ATS-34 Odyssey,
maybe with a 2-2,5" blade.

Anyone else that feel that they have a "great" idea for a new Buck?

Right On, Jonas!

I like your suggestions. There is talk about a special Bladeforums Lightning woth BG-42 steel, but unfortunately it was about the big model. I LOVE the idea of a small lightning with high end steel in it. I'll second that!

Jonas,
Consider both new product suggestions on the discussion table. Those suggestions have come up this year as potential extensions to lightning and odyssey families.

I would also like to add a question to this thread, how does everyone feel about serrations. Full length serrations, partial blade serrations and multibladed knives with serrated blades. I tend to steer away from serrations but I am interested in the discussion to follow.

We are trying to minimize confusion with having models available in too many configurations. However, we do not want to miss a customer pleasing variation.

CJ,

As for serrations, I usually don't like them on a small knife. A plain edge has more utility since it can be used to push or slice, although the slicing is not as good as with serrations. But, serrations cannot be used to push at all. It also takes less time to sharpen.

On a larger knife a plain edge or a combo edge are fine. I own several of each type in large knives.

I don't like full serrations at all because it limits the utility of the knife.

Thanks for listening.
