New Buck Most like the 112?

I have the 112 that was given to me for Christmas by my uncle when I was 12. It is a .112. from 1980 and I love it. I love the size mostly. The knife has become kind of an heirloom for me and the thought of losing it makes me sick. I recently ordered a Buck Rush but it hasn't arrived yet. I wonder what you all think might be a suitable modern sustitute for the 112?

Thanks

J

PS Aside from a new 112 of course!

If losing it worries you, and you like the size/grip, get a 442. Drop-point blade, plastic handle, pocket clip, sharp, and affordable ($20 + S&H on eBay for a NIB 442).

I bought two. :D

If Modern is a keyword... Might want to look at the Mayo Tnt... If you aren't familiar with it. Go to the buck.com website and type in 172 in the search box.... Beware of sticker shock, this is not the going price...

JMHO, Agent J, the only substitute for a 112 is a one twelve, or possibly a hundred and twelve:p...I like the feel, size and proportion. Preston

Buy the 172, you won't ever be sorry, I've got 1 in my pocket, can't tell it's there, comfortable, feels better in hand, great lock up, superior blade design and steel.

My new one that just arrived today is right here on the desk.

Pay no attention to the price on the Buck site. First one I got in a trade was $130 shipped. 2nd one I got off ebay for $120 shipped. Both new in their little black box.
some have paid less and some have paid more.

I don't think that is bad at all for S30V and titanium.
