new buck scales??

of late i have seen pearl-esent and other scales such as this:

i have not gotten this years cataloge so i have real dumb questions:foot: ...
is this bucks new offering's in scales? or is this stuff that some one else is putting on new buck 110's ?
if it is buck.... WHY? looks cheep! like so many others ...
or is it jest me here again... ?

...I have to agree with ya Dave. I just don't appreciate that look at all. MOP and others like it have never been on my list of favorites...Must be my lack of "culture" or sumthin'...LOL...

I've been told that stuff chips easily as well. I don't like it myself.....but, someone must like it they charge a lot for it. LOL.

I think the theme is mottled. They use MOP to give it the gentleman's look and then add those diamonds on it. I never thought of a 110 as a gentleman's knife. slightly too big and heavy, not to mention no pocket clip. Who goes out on a date in slacks and a button up shirt with a leather sheath strapped to yer belt?
