New Buck steels ?

Hi lionknife,

The BCCI is offering it's members a new fund raiser knife, a 119 with Elk handles and an S30V blade!

Joining he BCCI is a wonderful thing and I highly recommend it. Not "new" steels but you can find older 119's with 440C, 425M and the Masters Series 119 in BG-42 steel. Also the BCCI 119 is going to have a flat ground blade which I think might be a first on the 119.

Lion, Your behind in your reading. The 119 thru the years has been offered in many different steels. i.e. 440C, 425M, 420HC, BG-42, S30V, ATS-34 & Titanium. That's 7 off the top of my head. We just discussed this a while back. You can find the topic by using the search feature. Several fixed blade models were offered with S30V steel in the Signature Series in 2008. (the 103, 102, 105, & 119). DM

Thanks for the info Dave. I corrected my post as I wasn't aware of the Buck Signature Series. When I read the newsletter about the BCCI 119 and saw "many first time features" I incorrectly presumed that the S30v was one of the features.

Hammer, think nothing of it. Your help here is of great value. Thanks, for hanging with us. DM

Hi David ,
I knew the Buck 119 was produced in a variety of steels , however i was unable to find one after checking on line . Guess i should have stated are there currently any Buck 119's being produced in other steels .

HI jb4570 ,
Thanks for the tip about BCCI ! I plan on becoming a member .

That's awesome lionknife the Buck Collectors Club is a fantastic organization. In addition to the Club info in the link above, the BCCI also has a $10 E-membership as an inexpensive alternative, this gives you access to the Club web site that is full of Buck information past/present/future, all of the past news letters. The Club also offers BCCI only knives a few times a year, an annual knife and a few fund raiser knives. Now that the sales pitch is over, if you want to get in on the S30V Fund raiser knife they are currently taking orders for the knife for a short time as order deadline is 4/15/15 so if you want one you must act now.

Does anyone know if Buck is going to produce the model 119 in a steel other then 420H.C. ?

Hello David ,
I did ask what steels the Buck 119 WAS produced in , and had that question answered . This time i am asking what the 119 is CURRENTLY being produced in besides 420H.C. jb4570 answered my question . Perhaps i should
have worded my question differently to avoid some confusion .

Your original post was worded just fine, ATMO.
