I've heard that a new version is in the works. Anyone know when they'll be available? Anyone seen a pic?

Thanks,
Clay

The new versions looks just like the old. The changes are that the G-10 slams are not as rough, and there are now serrations available.

Are the plain edge versions discontinued? Or will a plain edge version with rounded g10 slabs be available?

Thanks for the pic. The g10 slabs don't look rounded but it is hard to tell on the photo. Are the edges just slightly beveled?

I changed a couple things on this product during the intro of the medium grain G-10.

Changes are
Serrated and Non-serrated Available in both sizes and blade styles.
Medium G-10
No thumb notches on G-10
Larger Thumb notches on both models on Liners
Changed washer set-ups on both models to eliminate double/triple stacking of washers.
New Backside washer for Large Strider
.050" radius on outer edge of handles.(Slab is still flat.)
Added Thumb studs to both side of blades.
Added inserts to both handles to allow for belt clip placement on either side.
Added 3 screws on non-belt clip side to keep dirt/etc out of inserts
Assembled using Militec-1 grease instead of lightweight oil.

The 1st 50 each of the 881 (small) were built last week, and came out very good. The large wil be built this week. All Striders built from last week on will be this new style.

All this at the same price.. ;p

The pics above are of prototype handles we cut in our tool room and most of these will not have improved washer setup.

EDIT: Also tips of spring liner will be hand flame treated to eliminate the tip of liner sticking on blade.

As this is a running change to an existing model, no plans for BG-42 at this time.

Will a satin finish, stonewash finish, or black finish (im not a fan of black finish)?

Will there be a chance to upgrade "older" Buck/Striders with only one thumb stud to the dual thumb stud?

When and how can these new versions be had, specifically the 881 Spearpoint?

Perhaps better asked, when will dealers have them, and what to specify to ensure the smoother G10 is received?
