Just wondering if anyone has seen or bought the new Buck-Strider collaberation. It is called the Tarani SB4.T. It looks very similar to a Strider SNG only it is a liner lock. It looks like it has better fit and finish than the first Buck-Strider collaberation. I just saw it advertised on TAD Gear (I think that's where it was?). Let me know if anyone has any info on it. Thanks guys.

It looks very nice! I am diligently attempting to persuade myself not to buy it, since I don't "need" one :D

By the way, I do have a large Buck/Strider spearpoint. It has seen some rough use and held up beautifully. Great advertising for the new knife! But I wouldn't say there was any improvement needed on fit and finish. It looks like a brick, but I find it a very comfortable knife to use.

The Buck/Strider Tarani looks much more tactical, more like a fighting knife, than my spearpoint. But with that grip, it should actually be a fine utility blade.

I like the similar look to the SNG but I am not sure about the molded zytel handles. I like zytel, but not for 150 bucks.

I was surprised by the switch from G-10 to Zytel myself. As long as it's not thin unlined Zytel, it will hold up well enough for me, though.

That new Buck/Strider knife looks sweet, but an MSRP of $150 bucks for a 3 inch ATS-34 blade and Zytel handles? Even at TAD's $135, it still seems too high for a Zytel handled knife. Heck, the Buck Odyssey 181FX with an MSRP of $64 bucks sports an 3 1/8 inch ATS-34 blade and Zytel handles and generally can be found under $50 bucks.
I guess if you really want a knife with the Strider name attached to it you're going to have to pay for it, even if it does have Zytel handles.

I love the looks, but the Zytel i'll have to feel...wierd how you can use Zytel and put the Strider name on it, whats next? 420J2 steel?

They were going for a price point here to let this knife to be affordable for all LEOs. It is still a quality product, as Buck and Strider have no desire to ruin their reputations with cheap junk.

that looks sweet as hell, anyone know if it will be available in plain edge, i dont like 50/50 knives at all

Is this knife only available with serrations? I like the knife very much, but really don't care for serrations. The Zytel looks fine to me. Zytel really isn't a bad handle material.

And I can appreciate that as an LEO...Hopefully though, as others have stated, this product is lined, and available with plain edge.

My SOG X-Ray Vision is an awesome knife, it has Zytel, just needs better liners so they don't flex as much.

They have mentioned in the Buck forum that there will be different variations of this knife in the future, probably next year. These have been stated to include a G10 and S30V model.

Hmmmm....a very familiar design. It would be very nice to have one in G10 and S30V. Next year? I can wait. :)

Thats good news about G10 and S30V. I think I can wait for that as well but I am sure the price will go up.
