I was in that big discount store with the tins yesterday evening.
The Xmas tin offerings didn't strike my fancy, but I ran across this knife and thought it was a great buy.
In hand, it feels as good as any of the skeleton/neck knives I own.

It is a good buy. I believe the 143 pattern is exclusive to the big box store whose name shall not be mentioned.
I resisted because my brain is wired to want to find and buy all the other "flat" Bucks to complete the set.
Now you need:
135 Caper PakLite
140 Skinner
141 Large Skinner
151 Mayo Kaala
160 Smidgen
185 Tiburon
499 Guthook PakLite
680 Tops CSAR-T
695 Tops FDX cutter
860 Hartsook

Golly, 37,715 posts, do you have a life outside of this forum? .... :p

I'm interested to know if either of you have skinned/butchered a big game animal with one of the flat Bucks? I have looked at those and wondered how they would handle (does it fatigue your hand or is the feel comparable to a full handled knife). I have cleaned two deer this year with my new Buck 113 and found I like it quite a bit - it has a full, but flat handle - just curious about how these thinner flat knives work on game. OH

Mine has been a glovebox knife for sometime now. I haven't seen that packaging yet.

Glad to see C.J.'s modeling career is taking off.:p

I cord wrapped my handle to give my hand some protection and make it more hand filling. It's an option if it doesn't fit your hand well.

Another great knife for the price from Buck.

The Paklites aren't bad knives for the money and a fine minimalist fixed blade. With that being said they'd really compete a great deal better, if they were offered with a kydex sheath. I know several sheath makers here offer them for a nominal fee. Still the average consumer isn't going to go through that kind of trouble. I still believe they're a good buy regardless.
