... at a large online retailer. I'm not sure if I can say who ;).

They look really good! I especially like the brass bolsters and rose dymondwood on these:

I definitely would love to have a Buck 309 in Rosewood/Brass and hope to acquire one. It just looks right, even with the Buck logo. Also the new Metros appear to be american made which is a plus, I remember purchasing a Taiwanese one before I was really into knives. They also appeared on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, IMO it's kinda a famous Buck in it's own right, and I'm glad to see them not give up on it.

Do you folks think there will be more 300 series in rosewood and brass? I'd go for a 302 done up like that.

I'd like to see Buck make a jack knife like this that didn't have the sheepfoot blade and both nail nicks were on same side.

Intrepid L vs Intrepid XL

Buck's site has the blade length of both knives @ 5" but says that it is available in two sizes... I'm eagerly anticipating the dealer catalog for 2013 in order to sort this out and oogle the goods. The only difference that I see between the two Intrepids is the image of sculls imprinted in the handle of the L vs no design imprint on the XL.

Bill Keyes, from Buck, shows us new fixed blades mentioned above in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XXu-g5sqr8

There are two sizes of the Intrepid, L and XL, and both sizes can be had in the Reaper graphic handle or the plain black handle.

Another video showing the above mentioned new fixed blades, Zach Nichols, a Buck Project Engineer, in front of the camera this time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1F67l8-0B4

That looks like a real winner. Looks like an updated version of classic 5" all-rounder fixed blades like the Western L46-5 or Schrade-Walden H-15. I'm a big fan of that sort of really minimal clip. Works well on my old H-15.

Here's hoping they put out a version without the serrations. I "get" it, especially for being on the water and dealing with ropes. But for an all rounder, I would prefer a plain blade.
