I am left handed and have a hard time opening my Mayo Cutback with my left thumb because the clip is in the way.
How are you other lefties doing?
Do you think Buck will make a left handed Knife, or we will be able to order one from the custom shoppe?

Are you going to use the folder for Self Defense or as a tool.

Why are you want to have the knife accesible for left hand ?

Buy a spyderco Waved Endura, Benchmade Balisong, Victorinox Treker OH, etc.

For Example my case.

I am a little concern about the self defense issue so I have a Waved Endura in my left front pocket and another utilitarian / folder actually at this time is my Leatherman Wave accesible with my right hand doing a combo with a flash light Inova carried in a customized sheath.

But I would like to have a Lefty Letherman Wave ( Left side, but it does not exist ) and another folder ( right side ).

I sent some emails to the leatherman customer service and directors but they do not want to make a lefty wave ( We are people too )...

Regards.

FWIW

One of the big Alpha folders is a snap to open and close left handed. And I am not even left handed.

I know, it doesn't have a clip. But they do have horizontal carry sheaths that are not real cumbersom

like I said.....for what it's worth...

Yeah, double thumb studded for you studs...
OK class, quiz time...extra credit for those that get it right:

There is a Buckaholic travelling on his motorscoot at 65mph on a freeway (he would NEVER spped!!!), the weather is clear, and traffic is moderate.
He has his EDC 279 Alpha folder in the genuine corinthian nylon sheath.
He likes to carry it horizontal...problem is that the snap comes apart easily. Not an ideal situation, especially in horizontal and if you are in the car or bike behind him when his not so tiny tool becomes a projectile bouncing along at 65 miles an hour when you are approaching it at 65 mph. You know the story, sometimes you're the Buck, sometimes you're the windshield.
Is there a way to fix the snap so that it snaps better?
Please submit your answer in less than 100 words and double spaced.

Roloss,

With all due respect, thats not the point. (No pun Intended)

My knife is a tool that I use often.

Self Defence? Stick someone with a knife - how primitive. And if somone tries to stick me, I shoot them center mass multible times. I am also aware of the thirteen foot rule.

For self defence I prefer a shotgun but for EDC I have a Sig Sauer 229 40 S&W that I carry in a Left handed Holster. My Sig has a left handed decocker and left handed slide release. I hope I will never have to use my weapon in self defence.

I also carry my beloved Buck Mayo Cutback that I use a lot for all kinds of things.

And if right handed people can open thier knife one handed, why shouldn't lefties be afforded the same consideration?

Well, I have my own answer after trying to compress the split ring in the snap on the sheath. First of all, don't try to compress the ring using your Cold Steel Voyager tanto tip. Compressing the ring doesn't do much as I think the problem is the taper on the male end of the snap system...Solution, quit buying knives and splurge for a new replacement sheath from Buck.

Another tip: don't try compressing the handle of your 279 using vise grips (protect from scratching with a towel) and using a torx head to tighten it up. You end up stripping the tork head and your blade still wobbles. Solution, send it to the factory...you'll end up sending it to Idaho anyway.

Anyone want to send your knives to me for repair...the shop is open. :barf:

On the loose...
