New Budget Izula Wrap

I have found a new way to wrap my all time favorite knife, the Izula. I was board last night, and tired of failing at wrapping my Izula w/ paracord. I had just been updating my first aid kit, so I had an extra roll of roller bandage (the tan strecthy stuff). I wrapped the handle, and it is great so far. It forms to your hand. I have only carried it a day, but it has done great, even getting wet. I will keep you updated on how it does.

I tried a few different wraps - they looked as good as the time & patience I invested, but could never get the finishing knot to my satisfaction (always looked like an afterthought) - I ended up going bare and came to prefer it that way. I've gone back and forth about getting scales for it, but I just like it as-is.

Yeah, the end is were I always end up sckrewing it up. I'm just gonna get the Izula II w/ scales. Perfect solution

That is a perfect solution.
I personally prefer the Izula 2 scales but that is my HO.
I will end up with one of each. Hopefully sooner than later.

Ive got mine wrapped and i did it all the way to the end of the handle and it looks ok. I thought about getting some of that rubber coating stuff that you dip handles in and trying that.

I actually found the Izula Scales a tad uncomfortable, they're great apart from the metal ring at the end, just digs in that little bit too much.

My thoughts are the Izula II will be perfect though. Just that extra bit of reach.

I may even go back to the paracord, haven't decided yet.

Here are some pics

That looks absolutely hideous and I love it. It handles well then? It kind of makes me want to come up with some sort of handle option that is even uglier and more disgusting, just to say I did it. Like hardened mud, formed to my hand, and solidified around the handle. I might do that.

I like it!

Haha, do it

And it's really easy to take off if one wants to play with paracord. A friend of mine uses the same kind of stuff, but thicker and camo colored, from Cabelas, for his Cold Steel machetes. It's a lot grippier, and more comfortable than the rubber handles. The only problem is it's expensive at Cabelas. I think it can be found cheaper on E-pray.

Update: It just went through a soccer tournament were it rained the entire time, and got soaked. It is still sticking and holding up very well
