I walked into Recon 1 today just to see if anything "needed" to go home with me. I knew nothing about the Spyderco Burch Chubby when I walked in but after holding it, I was ready to buy.

I have been using a Benchmade 903 Axis Mini Stryker drop point as a money clip for the past 8 months and it just got replaced (upgraded) with my new Burch Chubby. The carbon inlaid Ti frame looks great. The Reeve Integral lock works and feels great. The S30V blade is oddly thick but the weight feels nice. Blade is all belly, no straight edge. We'll see how it performs over the next few months.

Just first impressions so far...I'm really liking this little three finger knife.

Looks like a great (very) small EDC. I'm just a little concerned about the lack of pointiness at the blade tip.

Yah not sure yet either. The deep swedge cut on the top of the blade helps a lot but it's not at all pointed like the PM2 style blade shape I'm more used to. It's like a small skinning blade. I'm curious to see how it will do as an EDC. Nothing like I have used before. Feels and looks good in hand and that's pleasing so far. I'll put it to work next week and start learning more.

It's a pricey little knife to mod but just by looking at it it appears as though if the swedge were ground out the blade would look a lot like the Lil' Temp Rhino?? Also would put a point on it.
Just an observation.

The point is actually surprisingly penetrative. I'm warming up to the Chub. Mine's a little gritty. But it's loosening up with flicks. It is a fun little knife. The inlays look fantastic. So does the swedge.

Have one of these on its way to me right now. Good to hear great things about them. I have read several reports of them coming a little firm though.

I had to get one after seeing the Burch Chubby in a magazine several years ago. The blade shape did it for me. Then learned the price. And the wait.

Mine is smooth but has a pretty strong detent. I removed the clip to make it a little more pocketable.

Mine's firm but smooth. I have to use pretty good thumb pressure but it flicks out with a very satisfying solid lockup sound. The more I play with it the more it is growing on me.

The Burch Chubby is in my top 5 knives to get this year, I like the little tank knives. Thanks for the feedback. :)
